Oh, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve posted! But I’ve had so many things in the works…everything I’ve picked up from my photographic workshops and trade show in Las Vegas, and of course, Kibbles & Cameras!

Our event was Sunday, March 6. For a large bag of pet food, people could bring in their pet, have a professional sitting and will receive their choice of images in a 5×7 print. Peter Williams, owner of Alpha Canine Training Center donated use of his deluxe building for the day. (How many dog training facilities have a kitchen and two restrooms?? This place is NICE.)
The response was overwhelming!
My phone started to ring within 20 minutes of my announcement on my Facebook page here. We put posters up around Sauk county, and the telephone continued to ring. By the time the Baraboo News Republic did a little feature story last week, I had only a handfull of slots left.
The dogs. Oh my gosh, the dogs. They were WONDERFUL. Big, little, fluffy, scruffy, silly, shy. We saw it all.
This day would not have gone half as smoothly without all of the great volunteers from Baraboo high school, the staff at Baraboo Valley Veterinary Clinic, and special friends Kay Contino and Christine Kortbein.
At the end of the day, the high school guys hauled and counted 41 bags and 21 cans of pet food to total over 860 pounds!! PLUS, we got $160+ in cash donations and a pink pet carrier!
Thanks to Kara Hakanson for her fabulous photography and for helping behind the camera. Many of her shots appear in the video above.
