This is my latest camera gizmo, and I love it. I should say “loved,” because I loved it the day I got it, I loved it the first few times I used it (see my “Joseph” and “Soccer Girls” videos on my Facebook page) and I loved it when I went to hear the BoDeans in Madison, Wisconsin at The Barrymore Theater.
And then, at the end of the concert, I lost it. Stuck it in my jean jacket pocket where it must have been for all of 5 minutes before it found its way to the floor. I think that must have been when I was singing OUT LOUD with a large group of people. Hey. It happens.
We looked, flashlights in hand, everywhere near our seats. We looked until they turned on all of the lights, which, as anyone knows, makes you feel so not cool. I left my business card at the office and crossed my fingers that someone would be kind enough to turn it in. (Actually, I was thinking the guilt just might get to them. Or something.)
THREE WEEKS LATER (after I had already purchased a replacement for the little lost Flip), I got a call from the theater office. They FOUND it. In a doorway. In mint condition. Not a scratch on it.
So, THANK YOU to whomever decided watching videos of high school kids, soccer teams, my family, my dogs, and the BoDeans wasn’t all that entertaining. Thank you so very much.
We celebrated and toasted the gods (and the honest people) with a Laotian dinner just a hop, skip and a jump away on Atwood Ave. Well, we would have eaten there anyway. But now we had a good excuse!
Life is good.
Keep your eyes peeled for some amazing videos coming up. Note to Moms: keep the Kleenex handy.
