Matt Hutter of Prairie du Sac took the lead and finished tops in the 5K race.

After weeks of lovely warm temperatures, fall finally decided it was time to visit our neck of the state. We’ve been lucky to avoid the gray rainy days for so long!

So even though it was chilly and rainy this morning, hundreds turned out to run/walk in the first annual Hungry 4 Some Supper Myself Run to benefit the Chris Rector scholarship fund and the local Food Pantry.

Chris was a passionate runner who passed away a year and a half ago. This would have been his senior year at Baraboo High School. His mom and the rest of his family have been very supportive of the cross country teams that he loved so much. So organizing a run in his honor was only fitting.

The overall winner of the 5K was Matt Hutter of Prairie du Sac. (Thanks, Matt for running through the finish again so I could get your finish shot!)

I am sure that local media will detail the times, winners, names, etc. so here are just a few shots to give you a taste of the exciting morning. Note the smiles…there is nothing as attractive as a runner who has just finished a race… no matter the time nor the distance.
